I mean i grew up in the suburbs. My parents actively made sure i never picked up any of their verbal tics. It feels like my claim is second hand at best and purely academic at worst. Like its only the pieces they allowed me to have.
I get that. I also grew up in the suburbs. I guess what makes me feel reassured is that whenever I you know go outside And interact in black spaces I have always felt more than welcomed. In fact if I do seem a bit awkward that just makes people go out of their way to reassure me and welcome me more. As long as you’re not putting on a façade, I don’t think anyone is going to reject you out of hand. Well, I mean, there may be a few people, but definitely not the majority at all. I should clarify that I always feel awkward at all times just a tiny bit. Not that being from the suburbs makes me feel awkward if that makes sense. People just sense, my awkward energy and make assumptions.
