Drake is a culture vulture that represents everything wrong with rap. Previously, we thought that just meant capital and watered down pop, what the video talks about. The interesting new allegation from Kendrick is that the OVO ring holds a bunch of predators, which is not surprising since Baka Not Nice had already been exposed as a trafficker and he was part of Drake's inner circle. Drake had previously accused Kendrick of beating his wife in the beef, and Kendrick warned him not to press him, ("don't tell no lies about me, and I won't tell truths about you" in Euphoria) so all these things Kendrick is putting on the line came with a warning shot, and it's possible Kendrick is giving Drake a chance to back off again until he shows evidence? Not sure. Maybe there is no real evidence to begin with.

There's also some possibility that Drake is hiding a second child form the public like he did with Adonis, but Kendrick has yet to show any proof. Drake cast doubt on that narrative by claiming that it was actually a 4d chess move where he got his people to feed Kendrick false info, but he hasn't shown any proof for that either.

Basically, both of them are making claims about each other that would seriously harm their careers (and possibly bring down a lot of extremely big figures if the P Drizzy angle ends up being true/corroborated), but the smoke is still in the air so it's hard to say which claims are true as of this moment.

They're over-hated, if anything; everyone hates them.

But then again, I'm probably spending too much time in ML spaces...

I wanna see Kendrick drop something asap but I hope he's letting THP6 just sit for a min for people to just marvel at it. It was the weakest comeback Drake could've made, the self owns are just kinda sad at this point and it honestly almost taints the entire beef yknow? Now I just hope he gets buried. Kenny's tracks still go hard but like, it just feels like an execution of this pathetic man rather than a takedown of a culture vulture & community villain.

I get the feeling that this is what he'll do. No need to rush out a response when Drake is pretty much doing damage to himself with his weak response.

I was feeling similarly yesterday. I was thinking this weak ass response almost retroactively takes the wind out of Not Like Us because it just feels so anticlimactic. Almost.

Drake really would've been better off not saying anything.

        Almost.

yea just end him at this point. MTG was already nasty and Not Like Us should've been the end if Drake was gonna drop this weak shit, now it's just a mercy killing

This is truly historical. I feel honored to even be a spectator.

Damn, I'm enjoying the fuck out of this. Kendrick's tracks are just at another level, especially Not Like Us. Fucking directly called him a pedophile devil colonizer, wow. What do all of you think about the blinds about Drake though? I usually don't go for this kind of stuff but it makes sense to me given that some things came true and the long-standing rumors.

I just have to say that anyone who is still That Kendrick is saying that biracial aren’t black is completely media illiterate. Like just there’s no hope for you. Kendrick addressed Adonis as a black man and told him not to Code switch . That little child has blonde hair and blue eyes. I made the mistake of looking at the Drake sub, Reddit, since I heard that’s where he got all of his ideas for his last song. And they are over there, complaining about reverse racism and shit out here saying that Kendrick is trying to say biracial people aren’t black and bullshit like that. Kendrick referred to as a black man many times in interviews. The issue is so clearly not that he is biracial, but the fact that he is a culture vulture. J. Cole is not getting this kind of heat. Because he’s not inauthentic.

I caught this too. That was genius on Kendrick's part. Used Drake's own, even more White passing son, to make it clear it's not about light v. dark skin or full v. mixed. Brilliant and real move.

      Lost on Drake fans though.

Honestly, I wouldn't be shocked if he's a redditor. Using AI Tupac and Biggie, the Kendrick soyjak post on his Instagram, saying that Kendrick is mad and taking his frustrations from being a victim of abuse out on him, and him talking about being too famous to be a pedo all gives off reddit-logo vibes. Like this entire time the beef has been going I've been think of what a reddit ass response Drake has had going.

He literally got the name of the song from the sub, Reddit like they were rooting for him to call it the heart part six. They also came up with the whole planted information angle. And a couple other things too. Someone should do a deep dive on this, but I think Drake is a redditor. Also, also, I agree with your points. His entire vibe is Reddit energy.

I mean i grew up in the suburbs. My parents actively made sure i never picked up any of their verbal tics. It feels like my claim is second hand at best and purely academic at worst. Like its only the pieces they allowed me to have.

I get that. I also grew up in the suburbs. I guess what makes me feel reassured is that whenever I you know go outside And interact in black spaces I have always felt more than welcomed. In fact if I do seem a bit awkward that just makes people go out of their way to reassure me and welcome me more. As long as you’re not putting on a façade, I don’t think anyone is going to reject you out of hand. Well, I mean, there may be a few people, but definitely not the majority at all. I should clarify that I always feel awkward at all times just a tiny bit. Not that being from the suburbs makes me feel awkward if that makes sense. People just sense, my awkward energy and make assumptions.

He's a white rapper with a goofy aesthetic whose music isn't all that deep who made it big of a kinda dumb song, when a lot of more talented artists and especially talented PoC artists haven't been able to make it (He also got some undeserved accolades, something he totally acknowledges).
I think the hate is misplaced, but I also think the actual level to which he actually is hated is overestimated. Most people either don't think of him, or think of him as "That guy who made that dumb song".

Edit: Like, I get what you're saying, but we already know this, we already know about white supremacy, and it's not like Macklemore can really do anything about that by himself.

I personally don't fault him. He's not personally responsible for his white privilege, and he has both acknowledged that he has it, and that others deserved the spotlight more than he did.

              Oh.

Fair, that's kinda what I'm saying.

It's, like, saying that the sky is blue. I already know that the sky is blue just like I already know that white supremacy exists. But you can't just tell anyone that and expect him or her to change the sky from blue to green by himself. It'd have to be a collective effort to terraform the fucking planet.

(Okay, now we're just repeating what each other is saying lol)

But yeah, he's not the worst white celeb out there, is what I'm saying.

      Ok then...

      ?

      [Intro] Woo Yeah

[Verse 1] The people, they won't leave What is threatenin’ about divesting and wantin' peace? The problem isn't the protests, it’s what they're protesting It goes against what our country is funding (Hey) Block the barricade until Palestine is free (Hey) Block the barricade until Palestine is free When I was seven, I learned a lesson from Cube and Eazy-E What was it again? Oh yeah, fuck the police (Woo)

[Verse 2] Actors in badges protecting property And a system that was designed by white supremacy (Brrt) But the people are in the streets You can pay off Meta, you can't pay off me Politicians who serve by any means AIPAC, CUFI, and all the companies You see, we sell fear around the land of the free But this generation here is about to cut the strings You can ban TikTok, take us out the algorithm But it's too late, we've seen the truth, we bear witness Seen the rubble, the buildings, the mothers and the children And all the men that you murdered, and then we see how you spin it Who gets the right to defend and who gets the right of resistance Has always been about dollars and the color of your pigment, but White supremacy is finally on blast Screamin' "Free Palestine" 'til they're home at last (Woo)

[Verse 3] We see the lies in ’em Claimin’ it's antisemitic to be anti-Zionist I’ve seen Jewish brothers and sisters out there and ridin' in Solidarity and screamin' "Free Palestine" with them Organizin', unlearnin’ and finally cuttin' ties with A state that's gotta rely on an apartheid system To uphold an occupyin' violent History been repeating for the last seventy-five The Nakba never ended, the colonizer lied (Woo) If students in tents posted on the lawn Occupyin' the quad is really against the law And a reason to call in the police and their squad Where does genocide land in your definition, huh? (Hey; hey) Destroyin' every college in Gaza and every mosque Pushin' everyone into Rafah and droppin' bombs The blood is on your hands, Biden, we can see it all And fuck no, I'm not votin' for you in the fall (Woo) Undecided You can't twist the truth, the people out here united Never be defeated when freedom's on the horizon Yet the music industry's quiet, complicit in their platform of silence (Hey, woo)

[Verse 4] What happened to the artist? What d'you got to say? If I was on a label, you could drop me today I'd be fine with it 'cause the heart fed my page I want a ceasefire, fuck a response from Drake (Woo) What you willin' to risk? What you willin' to give? What if you were in Gaza? What if those were your kids? If the West was pretendin' that you didn't exist You'd want the world to stand up and the students finally did, let's get it (Woo)

He doesn't, which was the point of the "you lied about religious views" line from MTG. 2018 times he was talking about his heritage, calling his mom Bubbe with his kid and that kind of thing; with time he kinda dropped it because he didn't want to just be known as the Jewish rapper. He had a Rabbi on set for a music video and refused to pray with him. He hasn't really talked about being Jewish at all for years.
