    this is a complex topic but 1. they definitely haven't gone anywhere, have only continued to proliferate, and definitely can fly alongside any variation of the rainbow 2. the original pride flag was meant to signify solidarity and a united front of queers against the cishet patriarchy, which is, i think a more critical purpose than just a signalling personal identity with a kind of proxy for nationalism. However you might evaluate its success at carrying that meaning today, altering it to include more factions makes sense.

      Yeah good luck trying to keep up with all the assorted rainbow flags. There must be dozens of them. RIP to anyone with any kind of color blindness.
