I still haven't watched season 2. My wife and I are doing a TNG era rewatch in air order. On the last season of TNG and we told ourselves we'd watch Picard Season 2 when we finished, but I think we won't...

Strange New Worlds is the only nu trek I've really enjoyed, because it feels like fun campy TOS. I should give Lower Decks another shot, I was a little turned off by the first few episodes and never went back.

Lower Decks has a decent first season, the main issue is the first few episodes don't really show enough of the characters so they come off as one dimensional joke machines, the latter half shows you the characters more and makes the first half better on rewatch.

The best new Star Trek show is The Orville.

I stopped watching Discovery after season 2 or 3, and I've never seen Lower Decks of Strange New Worlds, so feel free to tell me I am wrong.

It seems like they know why people liked TNG, and they're consciously, intentionally marketing it to people that hate TNG. Don't worry, it will have lots of dumb explosions and ships ramming each other. Oh well, it's my own fault for caring about an IP in late capitalism. They have to piss off the loyal audience to try to pick up new audiences, and repeat.

It's called "fan baiting". Yes, they do it deliberately. Typically chuds are the ones who get triggered, which is why they do it. Maybe reevaluate why you like the same things as them, and grow a thicker skin.

Well, that too, but I think they deliberately make something for a totally different audiences. If they lose some percentage of the loyal viewers but pick up a million new viewers, they're still growing the audience. But the more this is repeated, more and more of the audience wonders aloud why they still watch, but it's still a bigger and growing audience. I think this is happening more and faster than it used to because it's moved from natural evolution to a growth strategy.

Chuds who like Star Trek should re-evaluate why they like a blatantly leftist series.

This might be the worst TV show ever made

Stewart himself doesn’t even understand why people liked Picard. He keeps requesting more badass action scenes and explosions.

from the first second of the trailer, why does she have the "Sound of Music" whistle? Are they going back to pretending that they give a shit about real-world navy traditions? And if they are why is it a space whistle!? If she cares about tradition she should be using a regular ass whistle, if she doesn't care about them she shouldn't be blowing a whistle at all! And what is that thing anyway, some kind of space instrument? Do the buttons on it change the sound? Imagine adding a bunch of gain and reverb to a whistle. swear to god these people would put an electric triangle into their thing unironically.

Aww, yeah...the man who made a series explaining why the Star Wars prequels sucked...while making a misogynist subplot about a terrified woman being tortured in a basement. That's the kind of content people like!

I'm fully aware. I'm not saying those jokes are okay, but you were being overly confrontational and aggressive about it and trying to shame someone for merely referencing them.

MrPlinkett is a misogynist piece of shit.

ZOMG, pointing this out, and suddenly I'm the evil one. Because we all know good girls don't make a scene, don't complain, and definitely don't call out people who make "funny" videos featuring women being tortured.

Not saying you're evil, just to pick your battles. Referencing a popular creator (Even on this site) that makes problematic jokes sometimes doesn't mean they endorse everything they've ever said.

    Fun fact that I've learned:

You can simply just not watch Picard / Discovery if you find them annoying. I just... stopped watching, and it was a good move.
