Edit: I just thought about it and tbh Minecraft's soundtrack is also top tier & yet I didn't even consider it. The latter half of Mice on Venus (what did C418 know about the news today about Venus???) and Danny are seared into my memories from summer nights playing Java Beta 1.5 til 4am with my younger brother.
You have no idea how long I stood still listening to the new version of that track when it finally played in full for the first time as I was playing through the remake when it came out in April. Honestly it hits me a little harder than the original does - maybe because I hadn't heard it in like at least ten years.
They really did nail the remake. My only gripe with it the entire game was the fact that AERITH'S FUCKING BASIC ATTACKS ARE SO GODDAMN SLOW COMPARED TO EVERYONE ELSE AHHH
Fuck dude, the WW soundtrack is so good. I’m a sucker for most nostalgic Zelda tracks tbh I just posted this because I was vining it tonight. Cool that you didn’t go with most people’s choice of Outset Island from WW!
Yeah, Zelda as a series probably has the most consistent quality soundtracks out of any games I've played beyond Persona/SMT.
To be honest, Outset Island is good but it isn't a favorite. I have much more nostalgia for Grandma's theme, especially since when I first played through WW at my uncle's house on his game-cube he refused to help me at any point - and since I was only ever there for an hour or two after school when my parents were busy - I never could figure out how to heal grandma's sickness so I would always return to Outset after playing for a bit and run into the house & see if she'd been magically healed via my progression. Uncle was a bastard who didn't want me to get the Elixir Soup until I replayed it years later on the Wii U :angery:
You have no idea how much hope I have in my heart that with Zelda's 35th being next year, we'll see a Zelda version of Mario 3D All-Stars with Switch ports of Twilight Princess, Wind Waker, and Skyward Sword. Please Nintendo, I don't want to have to pull out my Wii U from my closet to play WW and Skyward Sword again </3
So easy, you nerd. Play a game that came out after 1996.
hope this helps

Oof, if you’re gonna hit me with the FFVII main theme it’s gonna be extremely hard to argue

Was really on edge when they said they were doing an FF7 remake, as I was not a huge fan of 13 or 15.
But they really nailed it. If FF7 Remake is the engine for future games, the series has plenty of life left in it.

Yeah, but she's got range and she doesn't need to reload. I think they were trying to play it safe with her, and went a little too conservative.
also holy shit, you posted a Zelda track and I completely forgot.
Grandma's Theme > Gerudo Valley, all day every day

Fi's Gratitude, Lake Hylia, the Hyrule Symphony version of Lon Lon Ranch , and the damn choral version of Zelda's Lullaby that I TO THIS DAY CANNOT FIND A DECENT VERSION OF are by far my favorite tracks throughout the series I think.
Don't hit me in the feels with Fi's Gratitude. I don't care what anyone says that game was a masterpiece and I love Fi 😭

that would be cool, I was thinking about seeing if I could get the virtual console stuff on my wiiu so I'd have most of the games on there.
Windfall Isle is where it is at, even though it's just an altered Kakoriko village, it's a good one.
