Outer Wilds is my favourite gaming experience in probably the past 10 years. I highly recommend everyone who hasn't played it to not look up anything about it and just give it a try.
Strange, usually games that come out for consoles are solid with controller mapping. It worked for me, but I'm using an XB1 controller for my pc. Agreed that this is the type of game that works best with a controller, but still worth playing with mouse + keyboard IMO.
VERY MINOR SPOILER FOR OUTER WILD WILDS BELOW, I CANT FIGURE OUT THE GOD DAMN SPOILER TAG
I really enjoyed it, but kinda could’ve lived without the time loop. Towards the end I found that I was just rushing around being like “have to get to X within 20 minutes to reach another clue!!”, which really kind of detracted from the chill space exploration vibe. Still a great game, but I kinda wish there was an outer wilds with 100 more little planets and no time limit, so I could just cruise around in space for 20 hours and explore.
I mean, you can’t really remove that game mechanic without completely changing the plot as well. Just a minor gripe I had with it.

It doesn't work with my controller and mouse control kinda feels very wrong. 😔
