Palm Beach University as a name would be amusing but believable. But what compelled them to stick "Atlantic" in their name? Is there Palm Beach on the Pacific that I don't know about? If a graduate is in another state and somebody asks them where they went to university - they must dread it. The convos must always go something like this...

      "Where'd you go to school?"

      "Palm Beach Atlantic University"

      "Um... What?"

I looked it up to double check and there is in fact no palm beach on the pacific. California has a Palm Springs but no palm beach.

Edit: Okay actually there IS a Palm Beach, NSW, Australia, it’s a suburb of Sydney.

I guess I'll never why there's an "Atlantic" in the name

          Fuck it. Google time.

It's "named for its location in the Palm Beaches". But there's no mention of Atlantic. It used to be called Florida Baptist College and then Palm Beach Atlantic College. I guess everybody calls it PBA even though that's also a beer. My only guess is that maybe PBA is a pun or wordplay on Baptist stuff. Or the founders like to pound Pabst Blue Ribbon.
