Kinda brought to mind for me how a fuckton of like, "dystopic media" features violence mostly presented to people as a show deliberately put on and gawked at, but this feels even more dire, making entertainment out of "real"(as opposed to like, artificially set up) violent conflicts and letting people participate in it through the comfort of their couch.
In the future, that scene of the corporate agent in Blade Runner 2049 directing drone strike barrages while having her nails done will be reality, but instead of some corporate ghoul its Jim Officeworker on his lunch break putting targets on ambulances because "The orcs disguise themselves as medical personnel" and posting it to twitter afterwards.
