The most recent Chapo episode covered and dunked on the New York Times and their transphobia regarding "debates" over trans healthcare. A bunch of people "just wanting to debate" rolled in, giving all kinds of wonderful takes that you can imagine.
For some reason, the mod team has been leaving their comments, and deleting some people dunking on them. Looking a little deeper, the new head mod installed after Mary was exiled is a stupidpol poster.
All in all, not great.
That sub was always trash, they're the kind of dorks who read Will's embarrassing "ombudsman" comment about the old sub and thought to themselves "yes sir they are indeed ombudsman, not like us true fans"
Like all the leftover pseudo-left "deluded Japanese solider in a jungle" dregs of reddit, they radiate a constant pathetic aura
Anyone still using Reddit is a lost cause. It's just a nesting doll of awful.
Why is this surprising? Chapo pod has always had somewhat of a tenuous link with the stupid pol crowd and it only got stronger once the sub was banned.
The pod isn’t actually the problem. This episode was dunking on the arguments and people that are the problem. It’s what riled them up I think.
I think the point is that the pod had that tenuous link and so regardless of the pods actual views, those people are around specifically on reddit since that's how most stupidpol people found chapo

Also, in a private message, he literally told me he couldn't see why "There is no such thing as wrong form of puberty," is transphobic.
Being able to prevent puberty is one of the most important parts of trans kid healthcare. Puberty causes irreversible damage, such as dropped voice, disfiguring body hair, and either breast development or large testicles. All of these lifelong problems can be nipped in the bud with puberty blockers. 🥰
I always thought it was a bit strange that people actually talk on the threads on that sub. It only exists to pirate a podcast. I know it's basically the only Chapo-affiliated sub left, but still.
It’s like the people who comment on imgur and develop their own community and inside jokes while the rest of the world uses it as an image hosting site
It didn't use to, the only comments before the sub was banned were like "praise Mary" and shit.
Most of the people in blackwolffeed are the same type of clowns that we used to bully out of the old chapo sub.

Out of curiosity I read the thread and I think it's still better than 99% of Web forums.
I don’t think slightly better than the background transphobia of the internet is a good metric to aim for in a leftist space.
Ideally no, but if the mod is someone who's looking at the trajectory of the US left (and still thinks things can get better for some fucking reason) they may be attempting their own "big tent" building of sorts.
I love that these people think socialism is so close in the west and a few “social Justice warriors” are holding it back.
