      It's hard to celebrate something so baffling. The protesters themselves didn't know what to do when they got inside and just milled around doing very damage. The cops didn't really seem to know what to do either. They knew they shouldn't let them in but didn't really want to stop them.

      It is an incredibly bizarre set of circumstances for a group to attempt storm a capital, the defence force to let them do so, and that group immediately lose all momentum upon success.

      It's political action without coherent ideology. They don't know what specifically they want to achieve, just that they've seen storming the capital on TV.

        Exactly.

        I tell friends I’m envious that these assholes, who could have just as likely been at an NFL tailgate, Hooters for happy hour or Black Friday sale, did something by all rights we should have been the ones doing.

      They did it because the cops let them and were on their side so it was easy. It would be a lot harder for a left wing group to do the same. If left wingers got through 1 door of the capitol national guard would probably open fire on the crowd
