He has a possession charge warrant we just arent answering the door when they knock and then they leave.

We aren't required to answer the door right? They've done it twice now, no way I'm letting him get taken unless I absolutely have to

I don't think they can compel you to answer the door (and if they get a warrant they'll force entry and tear the place apart looking for paraphernalia), but I feel like if they can prove that you knew he was a fugitive and didn't call them to report him then they'll get you for harboring him, but IANAL. Stay safe, don't talk to cops.

You're posting about it here, they'll break your phone or computer and see that

They can easily prove it by surveiling your home.

They aren't, I know. Not sure why you and the other guy are shitting on my parade. They're not surveying around the clock and I know what unmarked police vehicles look like.

I've been in the system before. Ill be fine.

And even if I wasn't I'd be damned if I told the pigs my friend was here.

All I'm saying is that they can prove he's there, unless your friend is just never going to leave your home and stay away from windows.

He's not going to until I get my check in a couple days at which point I will call a bondsman and arrange for his bail.

They're not going to survey my little ranch house 24/7 for a bench warrant. My county has manpower but not that much . Edit: sorry if I came off as a dick, it just kind of soured my mood.

Yeah I came across a little dickish sorry to everyone. Ill just say I've dealt with pigs before and In this particular instance i highly doubt theyre going to put any more effort other than knocking on my door every once once in awhile

I would delete this. It could be used as evidence against you for knowingly harboring a fugitive

Next they'll get a no-knock warrent and bust in.

I hear if you put some Lemon Pound Cake outside the door they'll disarm and move along.

Also keep the drugas off your property if they aren't currently legal in your area. If they find any of that they'll peg you and you can have your house confiscated. (They'd probably check your trash too)

You are not required to answer the door.

It's good that you can afford to bail him soon. If you couldn't, I would urge you to move him to another safe place because it's quite likely they know he's there.
