Are the US Vietnamese restaurants in part owned by Southern expats?

In Berlin most shops are from people who were on the socialist/communists side.

If it's anything like southern California, then most likely. The Vietnamese community here in the "Little Saigon" area flies three stick flags all over the place

That is quite an interesting - and understandable - situation you and u/axont describe. Leads likely to very different views of what is seen as "The Vietnamese society" in the US.

The only good pho place here doesn't allow them unfortunately, but I do have a matching hat for myself.

I hike a lot with my dog in extremely difficult terrain. My dog does this behavior when she wants to communicate that she needs a break to sit or lay down for 10 minutes or when she needs water. Please make sure the young Monsieur dePuppi isn't struggling to keep up with you and remember that they can get altitude sickness a bit more easily than we humans can!

I think there's a bunch more years that could go on the hat. Vietnam has won so many Vietnam Wars that I'm pretty sure that next time they can just hand in a punch card and win it for free.

    That's awesome

I've been thinking of getting a dog and hiking everywhere with them. Is there anything you do to protect Sasha against venomous snakes, or do you think a leash is sufficient?

It's the ideal. I'd recommend getting one that's like Australian shepherd sized though. Scrambles can be sketchy and being able to easily lift them takes away much of the pressure of that. We've encountered rattlesnakes a few times but they mostly sun on rocks to the side of the trail. As long as they're leashed close dogs don't have much risk there, and going off-trail here is all cacti territory so he doesn't do it anyway.
