The following is Harry Potter's career goal. You are NOT required to write a career goal of this type in your action plan. Instead you will identify three priority areas and create appropriate and corresponding action steps. This career goal is intended to give context to the example timeline ONLY.
Harry Potter's career goal (you do NOT need to write a career goal like this)
I have a very strong ambition to join the Ministry of Magic as an Auror – a Dark Wizard Catcher. Given my experiences working against dark magic since I discovered I was a Wizard, I am extremely passionate to continue to develop my skill and knowledge to help keep both the Muggle world and the Wizarding World free from the negative impact of the criminal activity of dark wizards. I intend to apply for a graduate Auror program in the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. This program interests me because it is diverse, with a focus on developing the Auror’s skill and knowledge across all areas.
The key factors that will impact my capacity to secure a position in this program are the grades I achieve as I continue to progress towards my N.E.W.T (Nastily Exhausting Wizarding Test) in key subject areas such as Potions, Defence Against the Dark Arts, Transfiguration and Charms. While I obviously intend to continue to pursue these discipline areas in an academic sense, I will also seek extra-curricular opportunities to further develop my knowledge. I plan to ask for recommendations from my Professors and friends to people they know who specialise in each of the key areas I will need to excel in to achieve the marks needed for the Auror Graduate Program.
Connecting with these people will also ensure I develop my knowledge of the job (beyond the visible aspects) so I will be better prepared for the Auror tests (like Stealth and Tracking, Concealment and Disguise, and advanced Magical Combat). My career plan is therefore centred on establishing connections with key people who can help me prepare for the rigorous training ahead. I also hope these key contacts will be able to recommend relevant professional development workshops and seminars I can attend to stay abreast of the developments in the industry.
**Harry Potter is a fictional character created by Author JK Rowling.
OH THANK GOD THEY CLARIFIED THAT HE'S NOT REAL I WAS ALMOST FOOLED FOR A SECOND
CAN YOU GUESS WHAT CLASS THIS IS FOR
IT'S BIOLOGICAL SYSTEMS
YES THEY'RE MAKING US DO AN EMPLOYABILITY ASSIGNMENT IN A BIOLOGY CLASS
PRIVATISED UNIVERSITY IS A JOKE
It is actually established in the book that people are falsely imprisoned for life in psychic torture jail, so no, I'd say being a wizard cop is bad. Also you'd be protecting a system that enforces poverty and slavery even in what is basically a post scarcity society.
yeah awful book. i think the worst thing about jk rowling is that she has more investment in making sure her worldbuilding is solid rather than just being like 'yeah this is a stupid baby book and i dont think this makes complete sense' just complete lack of growth of a person...
She seems incapable of admitting she was ever wrong about anything, which makes learning or growing in any way impossible. Though come to think of it, that's pretty much par for the course with the ultra rich.
Or celebrities in general
Lol no she absolutely did not think through her worldbuilding, she just wrote down whatever garbage came to her mind. Some of it was okay, but then there was the time she made time travel an easily accessible thing that was easily done and could be trivially used to change the future without thinking through the ramifications of this at all. To resolve this, she had a character knock over a shelf containing all the time travel devices in the world in a later book, breaking them. Thankfully nobody can ever make more!
