nobody has mentioned this so i will: getting rid of tik tok would be absolutely horrible for the music industry. tiktok in a way has allowed people to blow their music up more organically without the help of a label and without a label deciding who gets to have their music blow up (which has been happening in the past decade because of the internet in general but tiktok has made this 100x more efficient and easy)
i listen to a lot of underground soundcloud rap and huperpop and that whole scene would probably still be stuck at >1k followers everywhere else without tik tok
A lot of (internet) boomers take issue with the type of music that gets boosted via tiktok. It’s sad to see. I thought the millennials were our friends :bawllin-sad:

Great point, TikTok has been so good for making interesting or missed music blow up. Also annoying stuff but whatever that can be fun.
