Impossible
- Proof by contradiction:
- First, let us define a list as a countable set of entries, and a leftist tendency as a leftist philosophy with a unique set of beliefs, i.e. at least one belief different from any other tendency.
- Assume that we could create a list of all leftist tendencies.
- Let A be a set of all tendencies, and L be a list of tendencies.
- assume, for contradiction, there is a function L->P, call this function f
- let t be in A. f(i) = t
- but, eventually, there will be a splitter in t that defines a new ideology, t s that changes the i th belief
- t s cannot be in the list as it now differs from f(i)
- this is a contradiction, therefore creating the list is impossible
Back when I was a psych student and saw the size of the DSM and read all the overlapping symptoms, I came up with my own theory - There are 7 billion unique mental illnesses in the world. Same with leftist tendencies.
if you did that, you'll just be compounding the problem by making a whole new one out of the observations made during cataloguing smh
i'm an adherent to the leftist tendency that rejects all leftist tendencies as revisionism
Shouldn't all (or at least some) of the -isms under Marxism-Leninism be "[person] Thought?" My understanding was that "Thought" is used for a specific application of M-L that's considered to be consistent with the established principles, while "-ism" would indicate a change to the principles themselves.
The typology of leftist sectarianism is basically what the whole post's about, isn't it?
Fair enough. The reason I brought it up is that I think treating individual applications of M-L as distinct ideologies rather than applications of the same ideas to different conditions leads to more of that quirky, individualized Twitter profile stuff and encourages needless sectarianism.
Leftypol has a list to choose when making a post, my favorite one is Papiez
Has anyone tried to count the number of edges in this pattern?
(I'm only teasing, ily comrade :stalin-heart: )
