The university where I did my masters had panopto installed because some people couldn't attend class in person in late 2020. It was always a mess and kind of unsettling to have the camera in the middle of the classroom.
Grainy footage which makes it impossible to make out the chicken scratch on the board, terrible microphone which somehow will pick up the people across the class coughing but never the professor
And God forbid a student who was watching from home had a question, it was impossible to hear them, or if a student in the classroom had a question they would have to walk up to the whiteboard and speak into a microphone so that the recording would pick it up.
Thank goodness nobody in my class had social anxiety or public speaking issues /s
