Looking to get more involved. ML, Trotskyist, Maoist, Posadist, I really don't care so long as it's active and actually does stuff. Bonus points if they have chapters in southern California.
In the US there is CPUSA, PSL, and PCUSA (in order of oldest to newest). If I'm not mistaken PSL is based out of San Fran or San Diego so they probably have a decent prescence there.
I still see some MLs argue that on a local level the chapters are made up of mostly MLs so it can be worth it if there is no other party in the area. Still, I wonder how much you can actually get done when the national leadership takes such a horrible revisionist line.
PSL has a pretty big chapter in LA and a good-sized one in San Diego. Feel free to submit an application here, and don't fret if you don't hear back right away - there are a lot of applications right now and I imagine that other chapters have backlogs of potential candidates.
Most likely the various Marxist caucuses and subgroups of the DSA in total numbers. PSL may have more members in its base city though.
I'm in my local DSA, but it's rather small and doesn't seem to have a marxist caucus. Is there a place to get involved with a national marxist caucus?
Yes the different national caucuses have websites you can look at to join. Some are active nationwide others are only in a few big chapters. The one I'm partial to, bread and roses is active nation wide. Here's their site: https://breadandrosesdsa.org
Great, just sent them my info. Thanks! Though is it true DSA bans members from being involved in Marxist groups that have democratic centrism? Was thinking of getting involved with a regular marxist party, though didn't know if that could be an issue.
Anyone under the authority of a dem cent group is technically prohibited, but the rule is only used to kick out wreckers.
