    Is there any US institution that's not horrifically evil? I never had much public trust in the US, but it's getting ridiculous.

      I'll never forget when I learned that the IRS, having had its budget slashed, opted to only go after small fish who were dodging taxes, claiming that it's "beyond the organization's capabilities" to go after billionaires stashing their cash in tax havens. :xi-reactionary-spotted:

      There's individual offices that occasionally do good things, but taking a summary of department or agency actions not really.

      the state is a tool for one class to oppress the others. Even the best parts of it are social democratic band aids that were part of a temporary truce. It's all working as designed.
