We won't even pause from pretending infinite growth with finite resources is possible :stonks-up:

That's why we should all observe Earth Overshoot Day instead .

There's going to be ads for some sort of "green" product that either solves a problem no one has or is a disposable "renewable" version of something that already exists. Also it'll come in plastic clam shell packaging and was shipped around the world only to end up in the garbage in a weeks time

Largely ignored. Those who do care will face violencr and it will have accomplished nothing, as the goals are too meek to make arrest worth it.

I predict Mother Earth will summon her most fearsome creature in a final effort to protect her creations.

Not from the frigid mountain tops, not from the molten core beneath the crust, not from the inky black depths of the sea. No she shall call forth her necroplastic avatar of manufactured extinction from the floating island of carcass of what was once that drifts across the ocean. The great pacific garbage patch shall take shape as “THE GARBAGATRON”! Her dreadful necromantic automaton from all that once was once life and beauty.

This herald of ruin and woe bring forth a pox from its platform of discard products, using the trash that man created to smother them that great mother may breathe. This fragile and frail appearing wastemancer will create powerful constructs to lay siege against the forces of industry. As humanity creates more to defend against its onslaught, the GARBAGATRON shall grow stronger using the waste of humanity hubris.

SOON HUMANITY SHALL KNOW THE WRATH OF GARBAGTRON!!!!

I'm predicting that by pure coincidence it'll be the date of Elon Musk's media conference to explain the unexpectedly severe environmental damage caused by tomorrow's rocket launch.
