Ok, they think the government has already been revolted against and overthrown. They think large parts of the country are already socialist and it's an ongoing process to eventually convert everyone to a leftist.

Someone smart has probably written a book on this, but they believe there's a physical government (often called the deep state), but also a true ideal version of the government that exists more as an abstract set of values than a physical structure. The true government is the one they want, or think they want, and it's a mythical combination of American Protestantism and the year 1776. To them, there was a sudden break in when America stopped being the Real America, and curiously that always happens to be around when the civil rights act was passed and segregation was outlawed. Huh that's weird.

So their patriotism is to this mythical, forgone white paradise, whereas the current government is one that's already been taken over by commie atheist gay muslim hologram demons. And that's the indoctrination they say kids are getting, which is loyalty to this new socialist order that's already gained control of society.

They're deranged reactionaries basically, it's the same thing reactionaries everywhere believe. That true society is somewhere in the past and there was a somewhat recent break or humiliation that caused everything to become bad because "they" gained power
