Unfortunately, my current headphones is the last pair and they are probably going to die randomly any day. I have literally no idea how "in the know" people find good headphones these days, especially if you don't want earmuff headphones or apple earpod knock-offs. It looks like all companies are only making one of those instead of normal ones.

The amazon listing was 1984'd so you can only find it on ??? websites.

Note: this is mostly just a rant.

It's probably a generic, look up the company, check for serial numbers, and check sites like Alibaba.

Guaranteed that you'll find the exact ones with a different logo

I'm just doing my own rant on using the simplest possible tech. Sometimes you gotta make compromises in the real world but I always put very high value on physical tech like wires and buttons, repair-ability, competitive interoperability, open source, basic ideally human readable file formats and protocols, offline capabilities and the ability to destroy it with an axe when things go wrong. Following these principles you can usually avoid the problem of needing $200 headphones for your device to work. I'm not calling you out, I learnt these lessons the hard way and now it is your turn.

I've never in my life paid more than $20 for headphones of any kind lol.

Yeah you can get solid earphones for $20. $100 headphones (from good brands) sound noticeably better than $20 headphones but if you spend anymore than that then you're paying for some audiophile woo or "capitalist innovation" features like the inability to work without an app or being dependent on a non-replaceable battery.

I use chi-fi now. Not really expensive but offer serious quality. Look into Linsoul Tin T3.

Another vote for chi-fi. Some of that stuff is modular so you can use one set of earbuds with both a wire and Bluetooth. Check out cheap shit general (previously named with a slur, because 4chan).

Just as sure as death and taxes, it's a certainty that if there's a product that is perfect for your needs, it will be discontinued soon after you find it.

i like my galaxy pros, they can be found on ebay new or open box for under $80. It does suck though, whenever you see some product with a weird and obviously chinese derived name you can pretty much bet that brand will cease to exist. Though now new companies buy old brand names and use them to make them appear familiar, like Magnavox.

Maybe some of these on ebay are what you would want: https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2334524.m570.l1313&_nkw=tennmak+headphone&_sacat=0&LH_TitleDesc=0&_odkw=tennmak+bluetooth+headphone&_osacat=0&LH_PrefLoc=2

I have two pairs of these bad boys and I love them:

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09FT58QQP/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Under $20 and the sound quality is better than any other set of earbuds that I've owned. They are super comfortable and seal off your ears (at least with my anatomy) very well.

So I guess I'll ask here - I've never owned wireless headphones. Anyone got a sub-$40 pair they like? Or are they just not made that cheaply now?

I suppose I could just buy an adapter for my phone to give it a headphone jack.

Most of the entry-level wireless Sennheisers are good, but then they tend to have lighter bass than most in exchange for better clarity and an equalised sound. There's a reason their high-end models are reference headphones.

The CX or the 250BTs are fine, I use a 250bt as my "I don't care if it gets trashed" headphone. You should be able to find these on sale for $40 USD if you look around. I think they have a level below this too.

I bought a pair of wireless headphones for $20 at Walmart like a year ago and they still work fine. Also I didn't forget your ska playlist, I just haven't gotten around to it aside from a few songs.

Lots of people are saying they don't care about sound quality, but for people who do care I recommend checking out the Moondrop Nekocake (cringe name $45) or Moondrop Sparks ($85, less cringe name).

You can find reviews for both on quite a few audiophile websites and almost everyone raves about the sound quality for price.
