This is the only forum where people remember Renegade and I love it so much. That was the last time I enjoyed a multiplayer FPS... way back in the early 2000s.
How's Renegade X at this point? I'd love to give it a try if there's anyone here who plays.
I think the closest you can get to that is the Space Marine FPS
I played Natural Selection back in the day and they was pretty good
Huge NS fan, occasionally will play a few rounds of NS2.
EmpiresMod for HL2 is still getting updates as of March, haven't looked into it in years though. It's more C&C style with tanks and such than NS, but has the same resource node capturing gameplay of NS.

God this game SLAPPED I gotta try this HD version. I played the shit out of this in 2003. Oh man.
Wow, this game still looks fun. Did play it with my younger brother who still was very much into gaming back then. I wasn't good, but it was enjoyable as there was so much to explore.
Surprisingly many do remember that game fondly in this post on this site. Would've thought much fewer knew of it.
