      I always thought this argument was stupid, even if the monarchy is ”profitable” that doesn't mean having one is right. If the UK relegalized slavery and it was profitable, using the same logic slavery would be good.

      It's because they're business owners and landlords. The monarchy isn't a value add by itself. You could literally strip the titles and remove the ceremonies and they'd still have the same impact on economic growth. They're literally just part of the capitalist class.
