They do seem to be sentient, so milk/eggs willingly given would be vegan. That isn't to say all milk/eggs in the pokémon world are. They're also shown eating what appears to be meat sometimes and it isn't clear if that is pokémon or "normal" animals.
At various times throughout the series it's stated that they're eating a Pokemon. Pokemon G&S had the plot about Team Rocket poaching Slowpoke tails, the animated series had Ash worried that Prof Oak would eat his Crabby (turns out Oak was eating Gary's much larger Crabby), etc.
Then again, the show used to have guns until somebody decided to retcon it and say that everyone in the Pokemon World settles their differences with Pokemon Battles, so :shrug-outta-hecks:
I imagine that the reason Pokemon World is so utopic is because the peasants simply Pokemon battled all the landlords at some point in the past and achieved communism.
That would depend on their ability to own their own means of production though. Like, are these independent pokemon? Do they own property? Do they have other options in life besides that? Additionally does constantly laying eggs/being pregnant cause health issues like they do for agricultural animals in our world?
There are moves for giving milk and laying eggs so that last part is likely a nonissue? I'm personally not sure if the literal healthbars confirm this or not.
egg laying takes like 1000 steps evidently and no one knows how it happens or how the pokemon lay them. So I am gonna guess it is not strenuous since that should be noticeable. That or all the daycare people really are just that dumb
Probably, but I love imagining that Laura's grandparents who presumably had a child who then had Laura, somehow are confused. It also avoids some of the squickiness of a lot of egg groups

the soviet union resolving its differences with nazi germany by murdering them with charizards
You only think you're kidding, it's a huge plot point in Pokemon X/Y that a character's Pokemon lost their life in The War.

Idk why ghetsis never had a gun shooting a gun seems to be far quicker than throwing pokeballs
The show also used to have real world animals. Never ceases to be weird looking back at it

My headcanon is that this is just what the NPCs say to you because you're a child in the games.
