Oh for sure. To me, a red flag is something that, on its own, isn’t damning, but still sets off alarm bells of intuition based on past experience. Just that, but for people having a good sense of boundaries, respect, etc

No. It's from sports. A red flag means a player has a fowl and can't play anymore. A yellow flag just means they have a fowl. There's no such thing as a green flag in sports but it makes sense metaphorically as the oppssite of a red flag
