I was not talking over a marginalized user, I was engaging with them, we fundamentally disagree that the term patriarch implies negative steriotypes about asian people, I think it is worthwhile discussion and it should up for people to make there own decisions about, I would also note that I was nothing but accomodating and that the user replied by accusing me of racism multiple times when the core disagreement was over the definition used of the word, the only argument that it is racist involves atributing a definition to the word patriarch that I don't think is accurate (saying that implies the person is authorative or stern), (it is a term interchangably used for father that is not at all biased against any background/race) I never accused them of anything besides not understanding the most commonly used definition of "patriarch"

This same user is using reactionary terms like boba liberal which denegrade liberal asians as only adopting liberalism to appear more white, that liberal asains have some kind of whiteness complex, which I would regard as somewhat racist and at least insensitive and their comment using that term was not removed, it really seems like this moderation was done in bad faith, by a ghost moderator who has no comments or posts on the site.

They also said this to me

"I’m sorry black person, I just assumed that you haven’t consumed much media in which ‘monkey’ is a fun or positive word. ‘Fun like a barrel of monkeys’, the Monkees, ‘monkeying around’ and Curious George are all examples of positive use of the term.

Therefore, when the writer of the article said 'George Floyd is a monkey he actually meant…"

and they also said

If my response seems hostile to you, have you asked yourself why an Asian person might respond in a way that seems hostile to “well you and all the other Asians just don’t understand words”? Might this be shit that’s pulled out regularly by westoids to dismiss and minimize the concerns of Asian people living in the West, regardless of their level of English comprehension.

I never said anything comparable to "I’m sorry black person, I just assumed that you haven’t consumed much media in which ‘monkey’ is a fun or positive word. or "“well you and all the other Asians just don’t understand words”? Might this be shit that’s pulled out regularly by westoids to dismiss and minimize the concerns of Asian people living in the West, regardless of their level of English comprehension." how am I supposed to respond in a way that isn't considered talking over to this am I supposed to say I believe those terrible things they accused me of

I think the mod who removed this made a big mistake and hope they change their mind

Also to note I apologised to the user in the post for any offense I did not mean multiple times, I engaged with them the whole time in good faith, and I don't think that deserves getting every comment removed
