I'm up to the one on women in the Japanese New Left. It's all good so far.
Women in the New Left is an extremely important topic. You have to learn about the New Left with the same mindset you read Schopenhauer (not to bang on about him, sorry). That is: learn, discard bad elements, e.g. misogyny
As the other resident Schopenhauer obsessive, your characterization of him is totally accurate, at least.
It'll take me a while to be in a position to do so, but I certainly intend to :heart-sickle:
Hell yeah. You've got a head start on me given that I didn't do Arts at uni. Idk what I'm going to do. I've gone feral hog mode basically
Hey, all having it be a formal thesis would do me is getting it hosted on a shitty college website. I fully support feral hog mode and expect not the slightest bit of hindrance in the quality of your work as a consequence.
Yeah I sort of agree. "Cathedrals" are good but I'm 30 fucking years old. No reason why I couldn't do another undergrad but I'm not getting any younger. Let's see what happens
This is such a trite wish, but if only we could go back knowing what we know now. Such is life
The Japanese New Left? It's interesting for sure. The Weather Underground is probably the national new left I'm least familiar with. Probably had least mass support, not that any of them really did. Could just be the US political climate. Same strain of apathy as in Australia
Good pod, i will say kinda dry compared to what I'm used to but an otherwise great look into Japanese politics for me
It's not a problem for me, just not used to it, sorry if it came across that way. I don't mind the friend simulators, i don't get any parasociality (at least i try not to) but i like it too
Didn't mean to imply friend simulators are bad. Listen to what you like. But when things start with 5 minutes of banter I start to get bored
Episode Title: Marx and Hegelian Dialectics
The first 30 minutes:
"So, you know, last week I took a shit so big the toilet started overflowing just from the displacement..."
Spotify has been recommending this to me so naturally I have been avoiding it. But maybe I'll give it a go
