    If you want to look at the bright side, not saying you should but if you want to, I think things like this are not exactly accurate as a representation of a "popular movement" per se, simply because this online donation stuff tend to be dominated by big whale donations and many small token donations.

    The article mentions 40k donations so about $50 average which I believe is not trivial to throw away just based on ideology.

    So yeah maybe this is really just capturing the most :frothingfash: of part of the audience. I know probably stupid and meaningless so yeah it sucks.
