Japan is a beta imperialist country like Australia

I subscribe to Michael Hudson's logic for Japan: being an enemy of the US is a damgerous, being an ally is lethal. After WWII, Japan was promoted by the US as another forward military base + reindustrialized as an economically viable state. Once it startes to do too well, however, the US used its financial weapons to tank the Japanese economy in the 90s.

As a de facto vassal state with no real rivals, Japan has no need for nukes. Defensive nukes are for countries that are at risk due to bombing or invasion. Japan is only at risk from capitalism.

They do have hella soft power. Like Californians. I like Merzbow and the Tokyo Active NEETs

And the dude who [redacted] Abe had hard power. As do the Yakuza

And they're literally better at capitalism than Am*ricans lol

Okay so I'm going to rearrange my entire language at some point and maintain brevity. Haven't figured it out yet because I'm lazy

You cannot talk about the world without being cringe. The world is cringe.

You like sub/dom language? Mega-cringe. Dichotomies are cringe.

Order/entropy is acceptable. As is dead/alive, bourgeois/proletarian, father/mother, etc. All variations of a rule.

You're avoiding the point that you consistently use very sus talking points and language.

Instead of getting defensive get to some self crit.

Actually go do some Marx/Engels crit. I'm just a dipshit loser on the internet.

I have done some serious self crit and like it or not, I'm still alive and posting.

None of us have anything better to do. Otherwise we wouldn't be posting.

Okay, Marx was a smart guy but was also a dipshit loser that took a bunch of his primary sources on precolonial society from white supremacist settler colonialists with a fetishism for the "noble savage"

He arrived at correct conclusions because the model he was building was scientifically sound but a lot of the individual sources he used were western chauvinists at best.

Hell. he thought the people of eastern Europe and the imperial periphery were too backwards and reactionary to have a revolution before the more erudite and "enlightened" western proletariat.

You can talk about bad things without replicating bad things. Imagine if someone said

You cannot talk about the world without being reactionary. The world is reactionary.

You do not need to speak about reactionary topics in a reactionary way, and no amount of self-pity is an out for that.

I think I remember hearing that Japan keep components and skills so they could assemble nukes within weeks if they made the decision. But they deliberately stay this side of the line for now.

All true but regarding nukes, they could probably develop them fast if they wanted to. Remember when Sweden almost got nukes? Lmao

Yeah I hate watching Australian TV. We uncritically follow Japan and the US.

Not Paul Keating and John Hewson though. Those two were mortal enemies in the 90s. Now they both think the Labor Party sucks re: China. That means it's a Labor Party problem.

Anthony Albanese is a massive loser and Penny Wong isn't much better. I stopped reading Penny Wong's biography when I got to the part where she "wouldn't describe herself as a Marxist." Opinion discarded. The absolute state of the Labor "Left."
