Here's a question: Why did /r/cth get banned but TrueAnon is still allowed to exist on :reddit-logo: ?

My gut is telling me that cth wouldn't fucking stop brigading and harassing losers/libs/chuds/everybody and TrueAnon seems to be content with just keeping to themselves, but that's just a guess.

cth was growing in popularity an an increasing rate, especially since such a large portion of the website couldn't stop talking about us even after we stopped brigading.

Deprogram sub seems like it could be the new CTH after the troop posting pulling in a lot of wreckers and GZD already quarantined

after the troop posting pulling in a lot of wreckers

What happened there? In any case, seems fair enough, they definitely look the closest to CTH of any non-quarantined sub I've seen.

The badempanada tweet got posted there, similar struggle session occurred with more liberalism, then it got shared around more reactionary types who all started to show up, think they have a few pets now and I see people complain about them in random subs like CTH was in the past

Oh, then as I'm sure you know, that's fantastic for them in terms of growth, unless they get too big too quickly and get banned like CTH.

It could be, but I always get the sense from the Deprogram sub and GZD that the userbase is a bit younger than CTH, maybe that's because I was younger myself when I was on CTH. It's not necessarily a bad thing, but I find the subreddits a little less useful when so many posts are just about petty internet dramas and youtubers.

I spent some time in the deprogram discord, lots of comrades in there, but very young. I couldn't even like talk to anyone

In addition to the other replies I also thought that at the time it was a convenient excuse to play both sides and ban the_donald without alienating a huge part of the right wing on the site. A lot of reddit chuds don't actualy care about t_d given they all came back/remained on worldnews or the Ukraine subs.

There is a whole lore about leftist subs getting co-opted and becoming irrelevant over the years which is why they don't get banned e.g latestagecapitalism.
