Good German tradition. I literally have no idea if I'd be good at it but I don't care. Fuck Reddit.
The people who still do that at German universities tend to be absolute ultra-chuds.
Also, German academic fencing is super cringe. Not like in the movies but extremely static with opponents taking turns lobbing the rapier at each other's heads.
If elected president I will instate trial by combat as a legal standard across the country, creating a boon for the martial arts in pre-law programs and law schools everywhere
Some weeb:
brings a $40 mall katana
Me, a consummate professional:
brings my $500 zweihander that I bought from my friend who got into blacksmithing that's actually really good quality
"Omae wa mou shindeiru" I say as I behead the Redditor with my claymore
universities should bring back using those swords against rival universities and legal authorities
Would MUCH prefer this to the sudden tone shift into debate mid-conversation you get with academic nerds :maduro-katana-1::maduro-katana-2:
The Nazis banned academic fencing fwiw. They thought it promoted independence from the state or something like that.
But also of course a lot of em were duelists, a lot of Germans were duelists lol. It's like saying: a lot of nazis breathed air back in the day. Well, they did until the soviets dealt with the appropriately.
