    It's impossible to keep people safe in a system where police are outgunned by murderers.

    (Which is one of the reasons why people will never be safe under capitalism.)

      the police could definitely be less murderous within capitalism. Early capitalist Britain didn't even have a police force

        Oh yeah, there are police in capitalist countries now that are measurably far less murderous than the racist, rabid militarized cops of the US. But it's a spectrum. The tool of the bourgeoisie whose purpose is to protect private property with open violence legitimized by the state will always at least have elements that are ready, even happy to fulfill that role by killing people. Especially as contradictions intensify.

        I hear what you mean though, and I probably should have just left that second sentence off in my last comment.
