The absolute largest actual sourced estimates I've seen were around 5% IIRC; and the actual amount likely close to 1 or 2%. Which is still enormous, obviously.
I appreciate the correction. I have read this here many times, just goes to show we should be careful even here about confirmation bias and not thoroughly checking sources. I was familiar with the historian cited for the 25% figure, but not his critics.
