Who knew they sometimes allow good opinion pieces
these governments could not persuade the companies
persuade
YOU'RE THE FUCKING GOVERNMENT PUT A FUCKING GUN TO THEIR HEAD AND MAKE THEM
Tangential but it’s always so interesting to see the GOP as basically being pro-single-party-rule because that’s how they know they can accomplish their agenda but that means that bourgeois democracy is a sham

so Democrats have to reestablish and relegitimize that particular version of democracy when they come back to power.
Ask libs if they think we'd be better off with all three branches in Democrat's hands. The vast majority will say "yeah, of course." Then ask them how that's difterent from a one-party state.
If they whine, ask them if they think California or wherever should voluntarily turn over a branch of government to the GOP.
I had a convo one time with the hypothetical of "what would you change about the US government if you were king for a day?" The person who posed the hypothetical suggested making things equally bipartisan everywhere :pete::brainworms:
If someone wants bipartisanship, just point out that that is functionally a one-party state
It was a flag waving liberal, elder millennial. They wouldn’t understand what I’d be saying
The only bipartisanship I support is the bipartisan gulag system I've developed, every lib gets a chud roommate and vice versa
Yeah you'll get a little of that, but hopefully not too much with how partisan everything has become.
Say it with me class: "The atomic unit of propaganda isn't lies, but emphasis."

Its crazy how Cuba has become this flower-in-the-desert of the Caribbean, producing a modern bio-tech economic ecosystem that rivals anywhere else in the world despite being so heavily isolated from the western world.
On the timescale of decades, the island is a tragedy. But I want to believe that over centuries, people are going to write about Cuba like we write about other nascent globe-spanning civilizations in the modern day.
