Tbf if we're comparing to US politics, most of the FDP would probably fall in line with the Democrats (tho the more right-wing wing probably), tho I could maybe see some falling with the "moderate" type Republicans. Well same for the CDU I guess
I think I'd say they would be the kind of people who in US politics say "I'm socially liberal, but fiscally conservative". They are usually alright at stuff like cannabis legalization or LGBT rights, but are awful on everything else.
They are this kind of peoples, also the „I am going to be my own manger“ girlboss wolf-of-wall-street zoomer person.
I mean a lot of “fiscally conservatives” in Germany would also probably be considered socdem types in the US. Afaik they, like pretty much everyone in Germany, support keeping stuff like keeping universal healthcare and free tuition? Plus they’re in a coalition with the SDP
