This is a direct result of 3rd party apps for Reddit like Apollo and RIF shutting down on June 30 in response to the recent changes (like Reddit demanding $20m a year).
The mod says their work will be too hard w/o these apps as the official one is dogshit.
Sad day.

Fuck me. The Enshittification. As much as :reddit-logo: sucks, there are a lot of little niche communities that are important for communities that otherwise have trouble finding each other, and as enshittification spreads there are fewer and fewer places for people to go.
I'm glad we have comrades who were willing to take on the task of building this site, and for keeping it up and working.

Seriously, I’ll admit that r/196 was very helpful for me because it was a meme sub that went out of its way to say “trans rights” and scare off anyone who wants to flood the sub with out of context crime statistics and call it a “meme”.
I don’t suppose we can do a little outreach and see if we can get people on this site?
