These people will see one halfway decent comment getting dogpiled by their circlejerk and freak out that they've been taken over by tankies. The only reason they come here is to post cheap bait and troll. Their knowledge of what we're like is entirely colored by what other users tell them, like a spooky story passed around a campfire that gets embellished with each telling :specter-global:
I remember the first time I checked out r/cth and I was expecting the absolute worst, but I was so frustrated with everywhere else that I was willing to try anything. It was nothing like I expected, in a good way. An inclusive space for queer people that also didn't enforce ideological purity where people didn't take themselves too seriously and knew how to deal with chuds. So many libs and redditors have this weird thing where they don't ever take the final step of actually believing in things, they just like repeating words that make them feel good and if you phrase something too strongly or just say the right activation phrase they start reaching for the pearls (or the phone to call the cops lol).
