I’m holding back a lot of anger writing this for your sake, I’ve seen FAR too many people critical of this very diverse genre and the go to argument is always “bleep bloop clap clap clap for 3 minutes all sounds the same to me!” Um, excuse me? (Ignorant fools) It only sounds the same to you because both your ears are identical

The annoying thing about D&B through walls is you only get a small portion of it. Rather than hearing all the exciting high end, all you hear is the deep bass that doesn't really adhere to a beat that you can make sense of because the rest of that weird poly rhythm is filtered out by the floor.

All you get is just random bass sweeps that shake your shelves and make trying to do anything quiet miserable.

My wife has this thing where she feels sick from heavy bass. Who knows what it is but man I hate being the guy knocking on doors asking to turn the sub down.

I'd be fucking ecstatic if that was the kind of music my neighbors listened to.

But the only thing I ever hear is endless untz untz untz untz.

Or untz tss untz tss untz tss.

I love DnB, Jungle, Breakcore, a lot of the related breakbeat central genres, the crispier the samples the better

A common phenomenon when interacting with a genre that you're not familiar with (of ANY type of media) is that you initially only see the similarities between various works, which can make them seem kind of samey and boring. It's only after developing familiarity with the genre do you see the art of working within a tight existing framework, one with a depth of history. A fan with a rich understanding of the genre will see the penumbra of the new contributions of the artist to the existing framework. That depth of communication between the artist and the audience is a beautiful thing that cannot be easily developed, nor the experience of it communicated to lay people. If you try to describe it to them, you might come off sounding like a lunatic describing an incomprehensible religious experience.

There is a reason Disco Elysium is named what it is, and the techno bois are located in a former church,

i like DnB and House alot but can also recognize why people think it's the same shit over and over. it might be kinda like jazz since it's just a bunch of beep and boops and whatnot.

i don't, i just bought a new sampler to play it live.

i will say there's a lot of racism and homophobia behind a lot of people's hatred of this and every other genre of electronic music derived from house and techno. in fact, that's one of the reasons people started calling uk jungle drum n bass to begin with.
