I'm sorry but past a certain size there is one way and one way only to prevent a subreddit from going liberal and that is to ban the liberals.
It's how ShitLiberalsSay does it, it's how TRCM does it, it's how socialism does it though they're hit and miss. Etc etc.
Without banning the liberals the space becomes insufferable for the actual leftists and they stop participating.
The main methods you do this in other spaces is via left unity rules and being ruthless about it on topics of china and so on. If it's supposed to be sigMARXISM in particular you have to purge radlibs. A good start would be to clear out every user that has ever posted to /r/vaush too, if I recall there were a shitload of them, they are not marxists they are socdems and liberals.
Like, of course this would happen without ruthlessly enforcing that the space remain marxist.

How much automod are you using to filter things out? I can't/won't say what we use it for in public but a shitload of liberalism can be filtered out entirely with the right keywords and phrases.
we use automod pretty gratuitously and it does help. It's just the quality of posts completely dipped post-chapo, and it's been teetering since. Occasionally there's an excellent post or two, but a lot of it is just chaff and baby brain takes
