I read that the rating is 1/3rd the failure depth so it might have lasted up to 3900. The titanic is at 4000 and they had visited it twice before. This is why I’m convinced they got pulped.

Rating is usually where it will not deteriorate much. Getting close to the actual failure force will wear it out very quickly.
