My favorite instance has to be Nintendo removing a warrior feather from Game&Watch's forward smash in Ultimate and the Pizza Tower dev being so mad that he put a blatant stereotype in his game.

There's several compilations of his discord screenshots (various CWs) painting him as an annoying chanlord and his only defense was literally "that was pretty cringe of me lol", and then he just kept the tribe cheese
Yep, up until sm4sh it's just ordinary G&W wielding the torch. Ultimate made more of his smash attacks references to actual games he had, including fucking "Fire Attack" for some reason.
The weird thing is that Nintendo had already censored the feather on GBA rereleases of G&W games, so I'm not sure how they didn't forsee the smash community being reactionary shitheads about it and just remove it from the start.

I don't remember that existing, which means they had to have added a feather at some point between Melee and Ultimate lmao
