Holy shit this is where I graduated from. AMA I guess

I'm not entirely surprised this happened here tbh. This school is Canada's star school for math and engineering and ~40% of the students are in one of those two faculties. And you know the stereotype about these students

I studied CS here and the math/eng students were awful. Lots of men blaming DEI (Diversity, equity, and inclusion) hiring practices for not getting their dream internship, lots of misogynistic incels, and shit talking homeless people, LBGTQ+ community (especially trans people) whenever they get any spotlight however small on campus. Also lots of hate towards disabled students who would get extra time and accommodations to write their exams because that was "unfair" as if our current mental health crisis wasn't bad enough already

The school recently started making more gender neutral washrooms and many students were against the idea. I remember the school's only communist organization (Trots) there held a small rally (of like 30 people) to just spread Trotskyism and everybody wanted to call the cops on them for terrorism

      and shit talking homeless people

Definitely not limited to the student population in the area. Doxxing myself a bit, but whatever - I live in Kitchener-Waterloo. This area is Champagne Liberal Central. There's a cultural viciousness towards anyone who doesn't own at least one detached house. It's especially awful towards those who are completely unhoused.
