The title says it all. Not really sure what happened here. The only thing I can think of is that Mcafee tried to install a plug in for my browser but I said no to that of course

Uninstall McAfee. It exists only to do stupid shit like that and put 15 toolbars on your browser. If you want an antivirus use windows defender.

Honestly he's a horrible person but what an interesting trainwreck to follow. If he was a character in a prestige television show I'd be sad that he died undefined> There's a video of the sexpest John McAfee disavowing the software he made and telling everyone its now 100% malware. Pretty sure there are some graphs somewhere that show McAfee as performing worse than windows defender. Delete that shit and see if it chnages again. If it does disable all browser plugins and see if it changes. If it still changes erm... probably time to backup important data and format the system.

Definitely possible that McAfee did it. But there are a number of other malicious websites and apps that will fiddle with your Preferred Browser setting, to divert you into the lamest corners of the internet.

If you see it got changed, change it back in Settings -> Search Engine. If it gets toggled again, its likely either an app running on your system or a plugin you've already installed that's futzing with things.
