I'm not about to defend my awful country , but misleading headline. Dimming / turning off street lights off late at night is more of an environmental / energy saving measure, and literally everywhere in the UK has fortnightly bin collection, those are both very standard.
It's also misleading in the other direction, in that it focuses on Birmingham like it's a special case, when maybe literally every local government here is in deficit and cutting vital services. More councils went bankrupt in the last few years than the previous half century. A huge percentage of councils are due to go bankrupt very soon.
fair enough, I don't know too much about UK to be honest, the article seemed in line with the horror stories I've been reading about UK lately
It's also misleading because Manchester is clearly England's second city
I fear I'm missing something, 'cause Birmingham is like twice the size of Manchester.
Mancs love to claim second city status these days. There's even a wiki article about it
Christ, a whole wiki article about an unofficial, meaningless title that's super vague, nobody outside those areas cares, and nobody even claims the authority to award. Some people's priorities of stuff to care about really baffles me.
