I'm pretty sure forced marriages are illegal in pretty much every country. Even in India and Pakistan, which are known for arranged marriages, by the law nobody can technically force you to marry someone. Only thing is your family might put immense pressure on you and might, in extreme cases, threaten to disown you if you don't marry that person. In countries like that there's also cultural pressure, which obviously doesn't exist in Ireland, and stronger family ties, so I'm assuming if he threatens to disown them they probably wouldn't care
Edit: could threatening to disown/withdraw financial support over something like that be considered coercion? In the US parents have the "right" to do that, idk about Ireland though
In my experience most UK and Irish parents (I include UK as there are similar levels of wealth and culture about parenting) don't have the money to support their kids much to begin with certainly not enough to force them to marry a 40 year old. probably the 27 year old sister and 23 year old could together offer each other and the 19 year old more or less all the support the dad could
