Drunk driving is Wisconsin's favorite pastime
Bostonians think they have a drinking culture, but when I tell them that where I grew up had about seven different places that served liquor within five blocks, they start to pipe down
In Wisconsin, people almost never use the word "alcoholic". It's is essentially only rolled out after the person dies of alcoholism, or at least becomes homeless. Otherwise it's just a person who likes to drink.
They'll literally just be like "Yeah that guy pretty much drives drunk every day" or "oh yeah my son has to have a beer when he wakes up or he feels sick" like DUDE they're spiraling alcoholics! What the fuck!!
I think that stats up there are 1 out of 5 drivers has a DUI, with an average BAC of 0.12 (which is canonically Jim Lahey's preferred 'right in the slot' BAC)
Milwaukee county? I thought they changed it to a 1 dollar fine. I looked it up and it seems like that's what it is. Do they have some loophole? https://library.municode.com/wi/milwaukee_county/codes/code_of_ordinances?nodeId=MICOCOGEORVOI_CH24POUSMA_24.01POMA
the only non-conservative saturated part of the state besides madison/dane county, not to mention every other city in a state where weed is still illegal. little weird to just spread misinformation on the internet like that idk dude
Only things i know of from Wisconsin are booze, butterburgers and gangsters, so this checks out.
