this shits wild. these alien brainworms are spreading to normies. one of my friends who is vaguely left (supported bernie and went to BLM protests, but has a three arrows sticker on their car cringe ) has been drawn in.

this person is smart (valedictorian in high school) and they are generally pretty grounded. but their sister is in the military and recently told them to “take this alien stuff seriously” and now they’re convinced. i kinda just joked around about it and they looked at me like i was the crazy one when i said i didnt think aliens have ever been to earth. how?! they mentioned the “non-human remains” found in a craft and when i suggested it could be a dog or bird they gave me a “seriously?” look and acted like i was being overly cynical. i have a record of cynicism for sure, but this shit is so obviously BS. i ended up just killing the convo by giving the ole “ill believe it when i see it”

i honestly dont care if they believe in aliens but its just so weird how common this alien discussion is now. ive had like 5 people bring it up to me unprompted in the past week or two.

Believing in aliens is logical. Believing that they've been to earth, but only in the last hundred years, and only in the US, is literally insane.

I’ve seen people argue this is real because ‘there’s no way we’re the only ones’ as if that somehow means it’s equally likely that they’re here now lol

Like imagine arguing there’s a high chance the aurora borealis I claim is in my kitchen is real just because you find it unlikely that that one aurora you saw one time was the only one
