My understanding of the cultural bit is that gay relationships are tolerated over there, but after you reach a certain age they expect you to enter a straight marriage and make children. Real Shinzo Abe hours.

It's an excellent series imo and only has a 20~ episode run so it's not daunting to get through. The fight choreography and animation really make it.
And the music. Sharp like the edge of a samurai sword...
Yeah the soundtrack is great too. Easily one of my favorite anime intros.
Nujabes is great. Pretty sad that he passed away so young.
