By next year, the latest smartphones will be more powerful than the new Nintendo switch successor.

porky-happy Yes but will they have Mario, Zelda or Smash on them?

nintendo consoles have always been underpowered gimmick machines (excepting the Gamecube which undersold and gave nintendo cold feet), don't expect it to change soon

...with lots of fun games, and a lower console price tag than the competitors.

I think you're missing the forest for the trees.

i'm not missing it; i own a switch, the games are fun, i'm tired of people asking that they make a PS graphics competitor every generation, they never will, move on, that's the sentiment i'm replying to

yeah, they are the only platform with mario, zelda, or smash, that's the point

I agree and don't expect a change. I am however tentatively optimistic that this might have a major VR component, particularly because of this Nov 2022 patent they filed https://image-ppubs.uspto.gov/dirsearch-public/print/downloadPdf/20220362667

I mean, I love the Steam Deck, but it's going to struggle to run any new, slightly demanding game at 30 FPS. I wouldn't put that in the same category as PS5, Xbox or PC no matter what marketing tricks Valve does.
