I thought the narrative was pretty coherent as far as weird internet shit goes.

Skibidi Toilet is like something leapt out of the early 2000s internet and into the present day. It's lolsorandom humor crossed with people in cool black clothes fighting shit. It was made in a jank tool for internet people. If it was lower resolution, hosted in a flash player, and 4:3 instead of phone:ratio it'd be a relic from Newgrounds.

the fact that it was made with gmod makes it feel moreso, you don't really see gmod memes very much now.

Someone needs to dub it to say "You The Man Now Dog" and let those Alphas know that Millennials are still in charge.

I only watched like 7 episodes, but it doesn't vibe like those oldschool Newgrounds animations at all. Narrative wise, I think it's post 00s because there's a clear narrative when viewed chronologically. It's only lol random if you watch the first three episodes, but it obviously builds upon them and tries to craft some skibidi toilet cinematic universe. It's also a lot more dystopian than what was around in the 00s.

The article is playing up its novelty to say it's done by Gen Alpha while people here are saying it's the same as some animation from Albino Blacksheep. To me, it's just more zoomer shit.

There was stuff back then that built up a narrative. Things like Final Fighting Fantasy or the Shock stick fight series.

I think it's more about how the series narrative gets constructed. I just see the influence of the MCU when I see these new videos. It's like how you can tell Filthy Frank was a series made in the 10s and not the (late) 00s like AVGN. Sure, AVGN had characters, but there wasn't a conscious effort to create an AVGN universe while Filthy Frank had 30+ realms where a bunch of those characters came from in some Filthy Frank cinematic universe.
